beginning of my brat

so here is the start to my bratstyle 650...bought it off ebay from a guy in clearfield area last year, sat in the shed untill just a few days ago...so far i'm pulling the wiring (miles of wire), cutting stuff off, changes the wheels to an 18in rear and still a 19 in front but they are from an old tx yamaha or something and have those different walls (can't remember what they're called now) and i put the honda rebel shocks on...i'm planning on this build taking THREE YEARS, so i won't be too bummed when it actually takes me 2.5years...there is a DIY bratstyle seat kit that i plan on buying, tacking into place and having pangea speed finishwelding for me...that is if he doesn't mind working around my horrible welding (lack of) skills...if you didn't already know, andy carter of pangea speed is the man!

redneck racer

so here i am all excited to go get my redneck racer inspected and what not, and finally be on my way to having a legal bike, complete with license plate and all...turns out places were closed for mothers day...so i went on a fun solo ride around south jordan anyways...its been raining everyday since and i've also picked up another job at the specialty hospital in provo, so who knows when i'll end up with time go get legalized...maybe the next weekend or two

no not the xs650:( ...but the redneck racer has be reborn...just had to get a new battery for it...went to batterys plus a few weeks ago, got an education on batteries and picked up a "battery tender"...which is supposed to be way better than the trickle charger i have...you can leave the tender hooked up to the bike all winter for example and it will turn itself on and off as needed...the charger will either stay on and fry the battery or turn off when its charged and never turn back on

now all i need to do is get the massive oil leak fixed, register it and get a utah motorcycle liscence :)

update finally

so i've been playing around with painting lace a bit lately...i bought lace from walmart and used rattle cans...any extra money i have is going to get that freaking xs650 done, so theres no way i'm spending money on fancy paint or painting tools...just not a priority compared to the xs this is the tank on the redneck racer...pretty happy with how it turned out

this was my first attempt at a lace job...its on the helmet that i got with the xs a few years ago...this didn't turn out as good as i'd like...but its not worth redo-ing it, plus i like the DIY/rat look...partly out of neccesity

don't think i ever posted this...its my bike loaded up to take over to pangea speed, its been like 2 months...hopefully she'll be running soon...
